Embodied Subjectivities in the Philippine Context

BTG webinar no. 11 recorded video - 28 May 2022

Dr. Élaina Gauthier-Mamaril brings into dialogue disability studies and Filipino philosophy, using the Filipino concepts of loob and kapwa to argue against Cartesian dualism. Meanwhile, using an intersectional feminist lens, Dr. Beverly A. Sarza critiques public policies in the Philippines concerning cycling, arguing that since these are not sensitive to gender and are exclusivist, they fail to account for the needs of Filipina cyclists.
